I decided this year that I would start saving for Christmas early so that I wouldn’t have to pay for it all at once. So, I created envelopes for each family and wrote down how much money I would spend on each family member in that family on the front of the envelope. Then, starting in June, I started filling up each of the envelopes with cash. I’m excited to say that each envelope is fully funded! Woo hoo!!
So, now begins the time where I have to figure out what everyone wants. I decided to start with the teachers…
There are two times each school year when a teacher feels beyond appreciated…
Teacher Appreciation Week…
This was a time when your students would give you cards, treats, and gifts from the heart. (It was also a time where a two week break sounded pretty good!)
I could probably sit here and tell you which gifts were my favorite and which ones still mean the most to me. Ones that I treasure, ones that remind me of a student or a parent, and ones that make me feel loved.
Typically, if some kind of thought went into it, then I loved it.
One of my favorite things to get each year were gifts that were personalized, so I knew this year that I wanted to get a notepad for my son’s teacher that would have her name on it, but I wasn’t quite sure where to get that done.
Then I remembered Zazzle!
I started using Zazzle for business cards when I started my furniture business over a year ago, so imagine my delight when they asked if I’d like to share some of the holiday products they offer on my blog… like personalized gifts!
Of course I jumped at the chance! I decided a few weeks ago that from now on, despite the money a business offered me to do a sponsored post, that I would only do it if it was a company I stood behind, actually used, and it went along with my blog. This fit right in and I was excited to share this company with you.
So, I got to shopping!
The first place I stopped… notepads!!
I picked out this super cute notepad with a zebra border and personalized it with my son’s teacher’s name. (You can find notepads here.. http://www.zazzle.com/notepads?rf=238767274564155893)
Next, I wanted a coffee mug. I originally thought I’d personalize the mug too until I found this…
.. seriously, if you are a teacher then you TOTALLY get this! I LOVE it!!!
Next, I added in a few red pens. After all, teachers can always use those!
Finally, I wrapped it all up in some tulle.
Since the front of the notepad comes with a page that says your notepad is ready to use, and because I didn’t think she needed that page, I cut the bottom part off and used it as a gift tag to tie it all in together.
Can I tell you how excited I am to already have one gift done? I’m so excited!!!
There are so many great gifts to choose from on Zazzle, and their Christmas cards are just as lovely! You can check out all of their gift ideas at http://www.zazzle.com/holiday+gifts?rf=238767274564155893.
Have you started Christmas shopping already?
