Annie Sloan Painted Table & Chairs

Dear Annie Sloan… Chalk Paint Extraordinaire,

I know you have no idea who I am, but one day I will meet you.  I just know it.  And when I come to meet you, I hope that you are ready because I am going to give you a big ole’ hug!  And I’m pretty sure we will be best friends forever.

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint: Table and Chairs

You see, I had this amazing drop leaf table with the most perfect French legs.

It came with chairs that were simply stunning.

Straw seats….  Spindles galore….  Curves…

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint: Table and ChairsCan you imagine having to sand all of this down?

I mean, sanding each and every nook and cranny?

I’m pretty sure I would have been sanding forever.

Of course, you couldn’t imagine that!

You’re Annie Sloan!

You created the most perfect paint so that I don’t have to sand each nook and cranny.

Instead, I get to jump in and start painting right away!  LOVE that!

Old White is probably the color I go through the most.  It is a fabulous color and looks amazing on those French legs.

What I love most about your chalk paint is that it works on almost everything!

Even straw seats…

I mean, that is AMAZING!

I mean HUGE!

Now, I promise not to go all stalker on you, but seriously… look at how well it distresses…

Isn’t that lovely?

Now, I must say that I have several favorite chalk paint colors…like Duck Egg and French Linen, but Coco and Old White are just stunning together!

So, I just wanted to say… thank you.  Thank you for making a product that can turn this…

What do you think?

Did I mention that I want to be your best friend?

You know, in case you need one.

Much love,

Beautiful table and chairs, but I would prefer that the stripes were not painted on the chairs or the table. Just doesn’t work for me.

  6. Cute spin on writing a post! I adore the outcome of this table and chairs and I will be right there with you to give Annie a great big hug and a thank you for her chalk paint that has truly changed my life.

  7. I’m curious what brush you are using when painting the chairs? I recently painted mine – all eight of them – and it was not my favorite project ever! I used a regular ole paint brush.

  8. Annie has made a lot of projects so much easier, Thank you so much for that!!! That really would have been a lot of sanding a real lot. I am a big fan of the Coco too. This set came out great and I love what you have done, great result!

  9. Thank you for sharing this idea! I have a straw chair that really needs this kind of look. I would have never came up with this idea on my own! Your table and chairs are stunning! Those curves are awesome!

  10. It looks awesome! I’ve heard that wax doesn’t hold up well on a daily use table though. What did you use to seal it? Thanks!

    • Hi Jessica! Hmmmm… I wonder where you heard that? I have wax on the top of our kitchen table and it has held up fine. We’ve had our table for about a year now. I did use wax on the top of this table. Now, I’ve also heard that the wax can take from 2-4 weeks to cure, so I guess if you don’t wait long enough and drag something across the top, then that might cause a problem.

  11. Awesome redo of this table and chairs but I really “love” your letter style writing to Annie Sloan…….too cute!!

  12. It’s beautiful! I especially love the design of the chairs – so unique! You inspire me to paint my boring blackk diring room set that I’ve had for 7 years now – I purposely bought Annie Sloan paint for the first time ever for this project and the paint has been sitting on a shelf for several months – I think this is going to be my first fall project! Thanks for the inspiration!

  13. Hey!! I am getting ready to paint my old wood chairs….how many coats of paint did you have to use and also do you have any advice on painting the straw?
