Rustic Ball Jar Tree Garland

Rustic Ball Jar Tree Garland

I am so excited to be able to share with you this fun and easy craft that is dressing up our backyard!

I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to work with the new David Tutera Casual Elegance collection.  This new line is sold exclusively at Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores.  Although this line is sold under Bridal, it is so versatile as you will soon see!  I promise, you are going to want to run out and get your hands on this collection.  It is AMAZING!

Here is just a sampling of what this collection offers:

I honestly had a million ideas, but in the end, I really wanted something I could use to dress up my back patio.

Here’s what I used to create this adorable Rustic Ball Jar Garland:

David Tutera Casual Elegance Burlap Ribbon

David Tutera Casual Elegance Hemp Cord

2 Small Ball Jars

2 Large Ball Jars

4 colors or chalk paint

Several Small Antique Light Bulbs

Artificial Flowers

First, I gathered up the 16 small burlap flowers and 16 antique light bulbs.

Next, I wrapped each burlap flower around the top of the light bulb.

Once those were all done, I tied them onto the hemp cord.  I used hot glue to secure them to the bulb so there would be no way my bulbs would slip and come crashing to the ground!

I alternated flowered bulbs and plain bulbs.  I LOVE the patina of the metal around the light bulbs, so I wanted to that show as well.

Just look at that aged metal goodness… LOVE!!

I also cut 6 inch strips from the lace ribbon and tied it to the hemp cord as well.

With all the bulbs and lace strips tied to the cord, I moved on to the next step…

…painting and decorating my jars.

I painted my jars with chalk paint and used the various types of David Tutera ribbons to decorate each jar.  Each ribbon was attached in the back with hot glue.

Finally I attached the hemp cord and bulbs to the jars and added some artificial hydrangeas… my favorite!!

The last step, and always my favorite… decorate!!  I attached my Rustic Ball Jar Garland to the tree that stands in the center of our patio.

I think from time to time I will add fresh flowers to my jars to change out the look.

I just love it!
