4 Chairs & Invisible Pictures

Creatively Tuesday is LIVE!!  Go link up and come right back!

Wow!!  It feels like forever since I last posted a furniture redo!  Please forgive me!  I promise I have been working… honestly.

So I must ask… do you ever wish you could go back in time?

I don’t mean, like WAY back in time, but just a few days back.  Or maybe just a few hours back.

I felt that way on Sunday.

A lot of my pieces have sold at my space in Boerne, so I needed to get some things painted quickly in order to restock my space.

So, I grabbed a set of 4 chairs we bought back in November and got busy!

These chairs were UGLY!  The chair cushions gave me the heebie-jeebies… I’m pretty sure they were covered in pleather.

I decided to paint the chairs in AS Provence.

The last thing I painted this color was this buffet, and I ended up painting over it because it just didn’t seem like a good fit for a buffet.

So, here is where I want to go back in time….

I took a picture of my chairs painted.

Then another picture of the cushions so beautifully recovered.

Then, I staged them outside in the most perfect way, and snapped away.

That night, we drove to Boerne and filled my space with my new pieces.

When I got home, I was so excited to finally post about some furniture again, and so I grabbed my camera.

I opened up the little door to the memory card, and…

… there was nothing in it.  Nada.  Zip.  Nothing.  No memory card.

I ran to my computer…

There it was, in the side of my computer.  I had NEVER put it back in the camera!

So, all those beautiful pictures I took…

I seriously tried not to cry!  This is when I wanted to go back in time.  Just a few hours back so I could actually put the card in the camera!

I have even added “Don’t forget to put your memory card in your camera” as one of my goals for this year.  (Yes, it happens THAT often that it needs to be a goal.)

Luckily, I had to work at the store yesterday, so I was able to take a few pictures of them in my booth.

It’s not the same.

The lighting is horrible, but I guess it will have to do.

I really wish you could have seen my invisible pictures.  They were great!  I mean, like, magazine staged-to-perfection kind of pictures.  Yep… they were that good, but you’ll never get to see those pictures because they’re INVISIBLE!!!

Please tell me I’m not the only one who does this… anyone?  Anyone??

No really??

  1. Which reminds me…I need to go get my memory card off my desk in the basement and put it back in my camera! Seriously…I keep forgetting to bring it upstairs! Sorry about the “lost” photos, but I really love the chairs. I think Provence looks beautiful on them and accents the fabric perfectly! Another beautiful project, Claire!

  2. LOVE these!!! Very cute!

  3. Oh my- I LOVE THESE. I am surprised your camera allows you to take pictures with no card- mine sure doesn’t!

  4. Love the chairs! 🙂

  5. Great re-do!

  6. Those chairs look amazing…you took something ugly and created something beautiful. As for the memory card…does your camera have the reminder that the photos will go to the permanent hard drive in the camera? Mine does — it helps when I’ve left it in the computer. If I’m taking one or two photos I don’t mind…I can download with the cord attachment but it’s a great “stop, think” tool!

  7. I totally did that once when we went out of town on a day-cation with some friends. Luckily my friend is a camera freak and took more than enough pics and e-mailed them to us. Whew! I LOVE the chair re-do. I’m adding it to my Turquoise Love page on my blog for inspiration. Thanks!

  8. What a beautiful job!!!! I really Love it!!!!!
